Turan began its business life on December 26, 1996, manufacturing shotguns in the Üzümlü neighborhood of Beyşehir, Konya. The quality and variety of its semi-automatic and pump-action shotguns have earned it a place in the industry.

In 2007, Turan carefully monitored market diversification and developments in other similar areas. Leveraging the increased capital, he also launched the production of sound ammunition and shotgun cartridges. For this purpose, he added the underground gallery-type explosives production and storage facility he built to his inventory. This facility, built on a 180,000 m² site and with its 125-meter-long tunnel, was selected as a model underground explosives storage tunnel among explosives storage depots in Turkey in 2008.
Developments in the defense industry in Turkey have also positively impacted Turan. Recognizing the increasing global demand for small arms ammunition and the inadequacy of current efforts to meet this demand in Turkey, Turan decided that his future lies in this field. For this purpose, following the completion of the necessary infrastructure investments, Turan Ammunition began producing 9×19 mm handgun ammunition in 2019. Turan has reached a production capacity of 150 million 9×19 mm cartridges.
Our company has also expanded into international markets with its ammunition manufacturing, exporting the majority of its production to the United States and European countries. Due to the high demand for 7.62 x 39 mm and 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition in the global market, the 2022-2023 investment plan was revised, and investments were made in the necessary buildings, infrastructure, and machinery equipment for the manufacturing and filling lines for these products. An annual production capacity of 50,000,000 rounds of 5.56 x 45 cartridges has been reached. In 2025, production permits for 12.7 x 99, 12.7 x 108, and .50BMG were obtained.
