Atatürk University Astrophysics Application and Research Center (ATASAM) Directorate National and international scientific in the field of space sciences (astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, etc.) and related fields (space technologies, optics, photonics, coating, AstroEformatics: image processing, remote sensing, data analysis, AstroMeteo: atmosphere, meteorology, etc.) conducting research, observations and trainings, providing direction and service to technological research in the field; disciplines of basic science and engineering cooperation between and to make efforts, Turkey has the largest and the first red on the other telescope “Eastern Anatolia observatory” of (DWI) and support units (OPAL: Optomechatronical Research Laboratory and the Mirror Coating System) to build and to operate It was established on 06.03.2012 under the Presidency of Atatürk University. ATASAM has basically completed its administrative, technical and team infrastructure in its own building (~ 1000 m2 consisting of administrative and technical units) in Atatürk University campus in Erzurum; It constantly updates and develops this structuring in line with future projects and needs. Since 2012, ATASAM’s DPT / Ministry of Development / Strategy and Budget Directorate, TÜBİTAK, YÖK and BAP supported and comprehensive projects (Eastern Anatolian Observatory, Focal Plane Devices, ATA50 Research Telescope, Satellite Meteorology and AstroMeteo, Atmospheric Quality Measurement System: MASS -DIMM, AO Laboratory, Optomechronic Research Laboratory: OPAL, Mirror Coating System, Pole Project, Remote Sensing, Astronomical Software and Data Evaluation: AstroEnformatik, DAG-GES: DAG and Solar Energy System and Test Center, etc.). ATASAM is not only a center for international studies in the field of space sciences; At the same time, the technological information to be obtained as a result of the studies in this field and the infrastructure (optical laboratory, mirror coating system, team and equipment, etc.) to optical and space technologies and similar interdisciplinary subjects (optical, mechanical, software, data mining, image processing, atmosphere , coating, control system, etc.) continues its development as an R&D center. In this context; It is open to any kind of cooperation and partnership for its fields of work.
