Akdeniz University was established in 1982 in Antalya to include higher education institutions in the Western Mediterranean region. Akdeniz University, Isparta units in 1992, Suleyman Demirel University; In 2006, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University; The units in Alanya were transferred to Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, which was established in 2015. He was also a public lecturer at the foundation of Antalya Culture and Education Foundation. Since its foundation, Akdeniz University has carried out very important activities in the fields of education, research, development and service to the society, and started to create added value in all of our country starting from the Western Mediterranean dish. Health, science, social, education, language, art, etc. at national and international level. superior achievements were achieved in the fields. As of 31.05.2017, there are 69.030 students and 4.303 academic and administrative staff in our university. The main campus of our university is located in the area between Dumlupınar Boulevard and Uncalı district. The central campus has a land area of 3.483.589m2 and a construction area of 615.105m2. There are 681.598 m2 closed area in all the settlements. As of today, Akdeniz University continues its activities in the fields of education, research and community service at 22 Faculties, 7 Institutes, 3 Higher Schools, 1 Conservatory, 12 Vocational Schools and 57 research and application centers.
